Mike in Texas
Hi - I'm a long time listener to the show, and was as shocked as anyone when Aaron announced his 'retirement'. It's been my privilege to work with Aaron on getting the new website and forums back online and I hope to be more of a contributor going forward.
I started reading comics and watching sci fi on tv in the early 60's. Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Outer Limits, Time Tunnel, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Lost in Space, Batman (and I'm sure others I'm forgetting) - I watched them all. I saw the original Star Trek episodes when they aired. I watched the first moon landing on live tv (along with everyone else in the world who had access to a television). From reading comics I graduated to reading books. I still collect books (mostly scifi and fantasy, but science and history as well). My entire home office is walled with bookshelves and stacks of books. My favorite authors include Heinlein (of course), Neal Stephenson, Neil Gaiman, Charles Stross, Guy Gavriel Kay, Alastair Reynolds, Dan Simmons and a whole bunch of other. I also read and collect Analog, Asimov's, F&SF magazines, and graphic novels. I pretty much share the interests and tastes of Aaron and most of his contributors when it comes to comics, movies and tv, with the exception of not being much of a Kiss fan - I grew up in the era of John, Paul, George and Ringo. The only thing I remember about Kiss is their guest appearance in a Howard the Duck comic

Never mind. |
