Episode 9 The Bionic Man

Interesting timing on this one, I'd just recently discovered online that there had been a new Bionic Man comic series, I've found Kevin Smith's comic work a bit of a mixed bag ( what I've read of it ), I did really like his run on Green Arrow several years ago.

I hadn't really read any reviews of the new comic but I kind of figured I'd pick up a trade paperback at some point however I had no idea there was a Bionic Woman comic before I listened to this episode and I'd be interested in checking that out as well, is Kevin Smith writing both series ?

I'll listen to the podcast on my drive home, but these are general comments. I'm a huge Kevin Smith fan, but that being said, he hasn't put out much in terms of good product lately. I haven't seen Red State, but his last film Cop Out was terrible. If you read his latest book, it explains a lot of the reasons. BTW: The new book is good, but a lot of the stories fans have heard. Entertaining nonetheless, but not worth buying in hard cover. I got it from the library. His series Comic Book Men left a lot to be desired for me. You can read my comments on the forum. As far as comics, his Daredevil was what got me back into comics again, but after that I didn't see a lot of good material from him. Green Arrow wasn't bad, but then the fiasco with Spider-Man (didn't put out the last issue for 3+ years) left me not wanting to read his comics. His recent Batman series SUCKED!! But all that being said, I would always give the man a chance, since he's entertained me more times than not. I will definitely check out Bionic Man in trade. I am such a fan of the old series. Some day when it comes down in price, I will grab it. I have the first season of Bionic Woman ( I remember it being the better series). Those seasons are very well priced at about $12 each. But, like the other Shayne here, I have piles of unwatched TV shows and some day I will get around to watching it!!

I picked up the first season of the original Bionic Woman from Amazon UK and gave up after the first disc, it hadn't aged well, it never bothered me at the time it was originally broadcast but this was so obviously intended to be a girls show maybe I should give disc 2 a try and with any luck it might get better.

I'd like to get the first season of the Six Million Dollar Man and give that a watch sometime, I did get the three Bionic Man / Woman TV movies that were done years later on DVD, sadly they weren't very good.
